I want to tell you about a really neat website today, that sells all kinds of Spanish books. It’s so perfect and I’m so glad that I know about it now, because Sammie has been really begging me to teach her Spanish. And I know that teaching her will really brush me up on my Spanish. Pretty soon the two of us will be two rockin’ bilingual chics!
The website is called MyLibros.com and it has all kinds of Spanish materials – even a Spanish map! I’m not sure what all is on it, because, some of the product pages don’t include a lot of information. That is probably the only constructive criticism that I have for this site. Otherwise, I am thrilled to know about it!
They carry a lot of Spanish novels – I would love to be able to read a Spanish novel. I went all the way up through Spanish 3 Honors, and then quit. I didn’t take Spanish 4 Honors my senior year of high school. I was scared, because, that was the year that you had to read a novel, in the honors classes, anyway. Hindsight – ugh. It would’ve been much easier to conquer a Spanish novel under nine months of a teacher’s supervision. Now I have to do it on my own. Youth is definitely wasted on the young.
Well, with all of the variety that MyLibros.com offers, I think I can get myself up to speed pretty quickly. And I’ll get Sammie learning in no time with their variety of children’s books. I think, though, that the very first thing I’m going to buy her is not even a book. She is completely obsessed with tigers right now and I found this awesome calendar:
(You can click on the picture to see the product page.)
Isn’t that just gorgeous? And the really cool thing is that it is in Spanish and French! French is actually the language that I wanted to learn next – so maybe Sammie and I can start on French together! She is at a great age to absorb such things. She’ll have to help her old ma along, I’m sure!
And to help keep me posted about what’s going on at MyLibros.com, I’m going to make sure and sign up for their newsletter. They will send information about new products, special offers, and upcoming showings.
And I’m going to put a link in the sidebar to help all of us easily get to the online store. I’ll have to make a new category for it – I think I’ll call it “Great Bookshops”.
Does anybody else want to learn Spanish with us? Come on – it’ll be fun! Oh, and you can get a 5% discount on the site right now, too! Awesome!

2I think in Texas we started in eighth grade, too, and I just didn’t sign up for a language class. I did speech class instead. I loved my Spanish classes, though!! My best friend took French – I wonder if she remembered any of it.
