Great post! I've been wanting to do a post similar to this myself.

We started reading to our son the very day he came to live with us at 8 months old and have everyday since. He's 5 now and in Kindergarten, not reading yet but almost there.

My Mom started me off at a very early age. I love to read story books about Princesses and Prince. When I grew older, I am very thankful for my Mom because I have realized the values she instilled to me. I learn most of the things I do by reading. That is why I am encouraging my daughter, who is 8, to read... I am proud of her, because she is an honor student and loves reading all kinds of books. It is really important to have your kids read books. it will build their foundation in life.
