I want to tell you about another one of the very cool e-newsletters that I get. It’s from a site called Educational Toy Factory, which is run by a work-at-home-mom with a very cool name.
Yes, her name is Lisa. But, it’s not me. It is Lisa Braverman.
I just love her newsletter - she sends us all kinds of little tidbits of stuff to do with our kids to not only entertain them, but, also, to educate them. This ideal, I think, is perfectly illustrated in the name of her site. Educational Toy Factory - that just sounds cool before you even get there, doesn’t it?
You will find all kinds of resources, articles, and activities on her site, and even christmas gift ideas. And when you sign up for her newsletter, which you can do right from the home page of the site, she will let you know about everything that is current, and more. And, when you sign up she will send you a free copy of the “Animal Alphabet Coloring Book”, which is a digital product, meaning you will get it instantly!

Years ago, when we were thinking about moving, I was looking up schools in the area we were thinking about moving into. I found this great site called GreatSchools.net. I have been using their site ever since and I just love it! And the cool thing is, you don’t have to be moving to partake of what they offer. And one of the things that is so helpful that they offer is free newsletters. The newsletters come in ages and stages, so if you have, say, a third grader - you can sign up for the third grade newsletter. It’s really cool.
They have a Parent Advisor newsletter, grades K-5th newsletters, middle school and high school newsletters, a Best of Great Schools Community newsletter, and you can also get school stats newsletters pertaining to your particular school! How cool is that?
There are also great articles all over the site, as well as a very informative blog by the founder and president of Great Schools, Bill Jackson. You can get to the blog here: GreatSchools: Bill’s Blog, or you can find it in my blogroll in the left sidebar.

I was going to start telling you about some of the great family and education newsletters that I get in my email every day. And I had started, and then I just stopped. Silly me!
I got one in my inbox the other day that just made me yell at myself for not continuing this conversation with you! The newsletter comes from a great lady named Aurelia Williams, and her site is called Real Life Solutions. She is a life coach, but, a lot of her content is heavily focused on parenting - and is very helpful, I might add! The subject of her newsletter this week was ‘Free summer crafts and activities for children’, in which there were links to some great ideas for keeping your kids busy and happy this summer!
If you’d like to sign up for her list, go back to her homepage, Real Life Solutions and you will see the sign-up box in the top left corner. And right now she’s giving away a free ‘You Deserve a Break’ report with every sign up!

The first newsletter that I want to tell you about that I receive and just absolutely love is from Surfing the Net with Kids by Barbara J. Feldman, otherwise known as SurfNetKids.com. The site is chock full of website reviews for kids, teachers, and families. If you sign up for the newsletter, you will receive Barbara’s educational website recommendations in your email every week. I thoroughly enjoy reading the newsletter every week and I think you will really like it, too!
Another cool feature to the site is the daily widgets - I have been meaning to put one on the Bookworm Broadcast for a while now, but, you know how life gets busy! So, finally - today I put the Daily Factoid widget in the left sidebar - you should see it show up shortly. Sometimes Wordpress is a little slow to show my updates.

I get some really great emails that I have been meaning to share with you forever, and I just keep forgetting to do it. I also get some really rotten emails that I’m sure you don’t want me to share with you - like the four I’ve gotten for Viagra this week, that totally bypassed the filters and went straight to my inbox! What is up with that? Weird! The ones I would like to share with you, however, are really good educational and parenting resources. I find out some super cool stuff from them. I will have to start a series and start sharing them with you! Hopefully telling you about them will keep me accountable to stay true to my word and also start a fire under my tush to get to it!
